The SAMAXXI

Hello hi 

It's that kind of a Monday where everyone is recovering from a fashion infested weekend. Yes, the fashion from the 21st annual South African Music Awards. The awards were held in the North West at the famous Sun City with sponsorships from the likes of Kia, Amstel, SABC and Sun International. We were not there, but bloggers need not to attend an event to know what happened lol. 

The event was a success with a few flops such as a dead crowd and the not-so-good quality sound. But we forgive them. The ceremony was hosted by SA Hip Hop king HHP and SABC 1's Lerato Kganyago. Congratulations are in order to those who scooped the awards especially K.O. and Bucie who never really go home with anything. 

So, we all know the SAMAs or any kind of awards are never complete without the fashion. The red carpet was graced by the walks of various SA fashionistas. I must say, the most trending last night was lace, mesh and embellishments. 

Let me share few of the spotted red carpet fashion moments.

5fm's Thando Thabethe in a mermaid back peplum gown. It looks a bit loose but she  is still gorgeous 

The black Pearl, Ms Thusi in a David Tlale creation.. Boobies on the show, loving it 

This was one of the most controversial outfits of the night. Dineo braved it in this boob tube piece x shiffon skirt that left less for imagination 

Lerato Kganyago in the glitzy mini flair gown and the huge fringe bang. I shall leave it here

Uhmm, for a sec I thought this is Rebecca Malope. It's actually Relo from the hip hop group Skwata Kamp. What happened to dressing for your body shape?

The DORO king looking dapper as always in a slim fit shirt. Where's that jackets with light bulbs? 

The forever simple Zizo Beda in a Royal gown suitable for the event

I love loot love, the coolest kid in celebville. She nailed it with this red power suit and a lace crop. Good combo  but it could have worked well in pointy court heels or stellitos 

Everything is wrong here.. Kelly Khumalo and her sister looking like grandmas who like things

The Soil matched in burgundy and black. We will forgive this dude for the checkered shirt, not even tucked in 

Nomzamo Mbatha looking sexy as ever, serving thigh in this sheer number

Ok. So much is going on here. Nandi Mngoma in this metal embellished mini dress x the mesh drape x gladiators. I don't know hey.. She's beautiful though 

This is different but super gorge. Boity turned heads in this essemble by Ursula of Destiny Moon creations. She wore it very well 

Fashion blogger and stylist Sarah Langa in a fringe x mess dress by Tuelo Nguyuza. I've seen this guy's work before, he's going places, so many beautiful creations 

Casper Nyovest looking green in this suits x sneakers. Unique is smart. 

So that is all I have from the SAMAXXI red carpet. As successful as the event was, the fashion wasn't bad either. We will forgive those who went off the rail.
